Choosing the Path of Peace: Walking in Light Every Day
Scripture
"Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it."— Psalm 34:14 (KJV)
In a world filled with noise, distraction, and division, finding true peace often feels like a difficult search. Yet, God’s Word provides us with a clear roadmap for how to walk with Him daily.
In Psalm 34:14, David gives us an intentional four-part call to action:
Depart from evil: Consciously turn away from thoughts, habits, and influences that pull you away from God.
Do good: Actively choose righteousness, kindness, and love in your daily interactions.
Seek peace: Look for opportunities to bring God’s calm and unity into your home, workplace, and community.
Pursue it: Run after peace with determination even when it requires patience, humility, and forgiveness.
Living this out is not always easy, but as followers of Christ, we are called to walk in light and choose what is right, knowing that Jesus is near to guide and uphold us every step of the way.
At Church of the Temple of God, we encourage you to pause today and reflect on where God is calling you to turn away from wrongdoing and step into His lasting peace.

A Daily Prayer
Heavenly Father,
We come before You today asking for Wisdom and guidance to walk on the path of righteousness. Help us to depart from evil and turn away from anything that leads us away from Your presence. Fill our hearts with Your Holy Spirit so that we may actively do good and show Your love to those around us.
Lord, in moments of strife or uncertainty, teach us to seek peace and pursue it with all our strength. Remind us that Jesus is near, and let Your peace, which passes all human understanding, guard our hearts and minds.
We dedicate our lives, our church family at Church of the Temple of God, and our community into Your hands.
In Jesus' precious name, Amen.
