Seeking First the Kingdom: Finding Peace in God’s Promises

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” — Matthew 6:33
In the middle of our daily routines, busy schedules, and endless worries, it is easy to find ourselves consumed by the "what-ifs" of life. We worry about our finances, our future, our health, and our families.
However, in Matthew 6:33, Jesus offers us a powerful shift in perspective: Seek Him first.
What Does It Mean to Seek God First?
Seeking God first isn’t about giving Him whatever time or energy we have left over at the end of the day. It is an intentional choice to make His presence, His truth, and His righteousness our highest priority.
When we place God at the center of our lives:
Our Priorities Align: We begin to align our decisions and thoughts with His will.
Our Worries Shift: We release the burden of carrying tomorrow’s cares today, trusting that God is already ahead of us.
Our Faith Grows: We learn to lean on His faithfulness rather than our own strength.
His Promise to You
The second part of the verse contains a wonderful promise: "and all these things shall be added unto you." God knows every need you have before you even ask. When you focus on seeking His Kingdom, He takes care of the rest. Trust His perfect timing and provision today.
